US RT 30 Project

The City of Morrison is providing the following update to the community regarding the Illinois Department of Transportation's (IDOT’s) ongoing U.S. Route 30 reconstruction project through Morrison.

IDOT has compiled comments received from the first and second public meetings. IDOT is currently reviewing those comments and will be providing responses soon.

IDOT has also conducted several stakeholder meetings as part of the ongoing project evaluation. Another stakeholder meeting with the Historic District - Hill Section is scheduled for September 30.

Structural studies have been conducted on downtown buildings that could potentially be affected by the proposed three-lane configuration. IDOT is currently awaiting the complete results of those studies.

Once the information from the various studies, public comments, and stakeholder discussions has been compiled and reviewed, IDOT will make a presentation to the Morrison City Council during an open session. The City Council's input will be considered by IDOT as it evaluates the alternatives and determines the preferred alternative.

IDOT will announce the preferred alternative at a subsequent public meeting.

In the meantime, community members are encouraged to continue providing comments and input directly to IDOT through the special e-mail address established for this project, which is:

dot.d2.30morrison@illinois.gov

IDOT has indicated that comments submitted through this e-mail address will be reviewed and considered as part of the project decision-making process.

Additional information, including background on the project and updates regarding its status, is available on the City of Morrison's website at:
