Regulations & Ordinances
The City of Morrison has enacted a number of ordinances that maintain
public safety, traffic flow, and an environment that is free of noxious
odors or eyesores. These ordinances have the ultimate effect of
maintaining the value of out city and the property owned by its
residents. The ordinances most often addressed by the Police Department
are parking, burning, stray dogs, and nuisances.
- For specific questions regarding parking, please feel free to call
a duty officer on the non-emergency line. The Police Department will
issue a reminder to the public regarding parking during snow removal.
This reminder will be posted in the Whiteside News Sentinel.
- Open burning is allowed on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday during
daylight hours, only. No burning is allowed in a closed container,
such as a burning barrel (outdoor grills are acceptable). You may only
burn yard waste.
- All dogs, not on the owner’s property, must be tethered by a
leash. No dogs are allowed in the cemetery. It is recommended
that all pet owners properly tag their pet, which should include
owner's name, address, and phone number. This will assist in the
return of your pet in the event it should become lost.
- Vehicles in view of a public right-of-way must be licensed and
operable.
