OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS

I.                   Call to Order

The Morrison City Council met in a special session called by the Mayor on March 28, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 200 West Main Street.  Mayor Roger Drey called the meeting to order.  In City Clerk Melanie Schroeder’s absence, City Administrator Tim Long recorded the minutes. 

II.                Roll Call

Aldermen present on roll call were: Barbara Bees, James Blakemore, Scott Connelly, and Gus Hayenga, Council members David Rose, Ann Slavin, Robert Snodgrass and Patricia Zuidema were absent.  City Administrator Tim Long, City engineers Larry Thomas (Baxter & Woodman Engineers) and Thomas Healy (Layne Western Engineers), and attorney John Chen, Chicago were also present.  

III.             Pledge of Allegiance

Mayor Drey led the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. 

IV.             Public Comment

There was no public comment. 

V.                Items for Consideration and Possible Action

1.      Executive Session – Matters of Litigation

Motion by Bees, second by Blakemore to enter into a closed session of the City Council at 3:02 p.m. for purposes of discussing matters pertaining to litigation.

Voice vote, all ayes.  Motion carried.

Motion by Connelly, second by Hayenga to return to open session of the City Council at 4:02 p.m. 

Voice vote, all ayes.  Motion carried.

VI.             Other Items for Consideration

There were no other items for consideration. 

VII.          Adjournment

There being no further business, Alderman Connelly moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Alderman Blakemore.  On a voice vote, the motion carried. 

Mayor Drey adjourned the meeting at 4:04 p.m.
