Boards & Commissions
The Mayor, with consent of the City Council, appoints all Board and
Commission members.
The following are the Boards and Commissions that serve the City of
Morrison. Please take a moment to review the duties and purpose of
each Board or Commission. With exception of the Library Board,
each Board/Commission acts in an advisory capacity to the City Council
and City Administrator.

Grove Hill Cemetery Board Of Trustees:
(3 members, 2-yr terms)
The purpose of the Grove Hill Cemetery Board of Trustees is to invest
and maintain the Perpetual Care funds. They have no
responsibilities for the day-to-day administration of the Cemetery.

Historic Preservation Commission:
(5 members, staggered 3-yr terms)
The purpose of the commission is to promote the protection,
enhancement, perpetuation, and use of improvements of special character
or historical interest or value in the interest of the health,
prosperity, safety, and welfare of the people of the City of Morrison.
The Commission meets once monthly on the first Tuesday at 5 pm.

Zoning Board Of Appeals:
(7 members, staggered 5-yr terms)
The Planning/Zoning Board of Appeals is required by Illinois State
law. The Board hears appeals on actions taken by the Zoning
Administrator and on requests for zoning changes. Their decisions
are recommendations to the City Council, which upholds or denies the
Boards recommendations.
The Board functions only as a hearing board and is not authorized to
become involved in the day-to-day administration of the Zoning Code.
The Board meets the last Wednesday of the month at 5:30 pm.
