Transportation Opportunities
Morrison’s downtown is located at the junction of
Illinois Route 78 and US Highway 30.
Its close proximity to Interstate 88, which lies 6
miles to the south on Route 78 and offers access to both
east and west routes, provides easy accessibility to
facilitate staff or employee commuting, raw materials,
or to ship finished goods.
The Quad Cities of Illinois (Moline and Rock Island)
and Iowa (Davenport and Bettendorf) lie 45 minutes to
the west and Chicago lies 2 hours to the east along this
route.
Interstate 80 is 40 miles to the south of Illinois
Route 78.
A planned bypass will provide easy and quick access
over the Union Pacific Railroad and will provide a more
efficient connection from Route 30 to Route 78 to
accommodate emergency vehicles and commercial traffic.
Currently in its engineering phase, the anticipated
completion date for the project is 2007.
Whiteside County Airport is located 15 miles to the
east, just off Interstate 88.
The Mississippi River and related docking and
warehouse facilities are located 11 miles to the west
via Route 30 in Clinton, Iowa.
Chicago is located approximately 120 miles to the
east on Interstate 88.
